Obituary for KiKi or Cleo the Cat

KiKi, nee Cleo, died in her sleep this morning. She was 20 years old. She came to us from my aunt who could not keep her herself after finding her on a park bench in the nearby National Forest. She was a tiny, dirty orange long haired, green eyed feisty cat who did not take crap from anyone.

When she was about 12 years old, she suffered a seizure that the vet could not diagnose. This episode left her cocking her head to the side so that she could walk straight and see. A few years later she became blind in one eye. She never let go of her feistiness despite her tiny stature.

She wasn't a companion cat per se since she preferred her own company until the near end. My husband would hold her bundled up in a towel, since she was always cold, and would let her fall asleep on his lap or chest as he fell asleep in his big chair while watching TV.

She died bundled up in her towel on the chair next to my bed and only whimpered once before letting her body go into that last, eternal sleep.

We love you, KiKi-enjoy your next life.
